Admission – selection process
Admission to the DEQM graduate program occurs via the internal selection process, which occurs twice a year. Registration generally opens in April and September. The announcements follow the university model and can be found online on the requirements platform (plataforma de requerimentos). The required documents, in addition to persona, documents and data, are your (old) registration (if you are a former student of PUC-Rio), previous education information, languages, professional experience (last 5 years), two letters of recommendation, curriculum (in pdf), school transcripts (in pdf), memorial. The cost of the course must also be informed.
After the request has been generated, the Selection Committee analyzes the candidates and the results will be made available on the same platform. There are two stages of the admissions process: 1) Registration and 2) Choice of subjects. In the first stage, the documents must be delivered personally (or by proxy): Birth or Marriage Certificate; History and Graduation Diploma for the vacancy in the Master’s course; History and Masters diploma for the Doctorate course.
There are three categories of scholarships: exemption, funding (CNPq, CAPES), and scholarships provided by projects or agreements. All approved candidates enrolled full-time are exempt from paying tuition fees and the granting of scholarships depends on availability.
