Chemical Engineer is responsible for the design, development, and operation of industrial processes where the most important stage involves chemical transformations of various materials (solids, liquids, and/or gases), both organic and inorganic, combining knowledge of natural sciences (chemical and physical) with engineering. This knowledge can also contribute to minimizing the environmental impact, from the use of renewable raw materials to the proper effluent and waste treatment.
Chemical Engineer meets the needs of the chemical, oil, petrochemical, and pharmaceutical industry. Another career possibility is the environmental area, preservation of the environment via projects such as treatment and recycling of urban and industrial waste and effluents.
